Horrido! Welcome to the e-home of the 95th German Mountain Recon Unit. We are a living history unit that focuses on the history of the World War 2 German/Austrian Mountain Infantry, the Gebirgsjager. We are based out of Portland, Oregon, but we have members from Victoria, Canada to Northern California and out to Idaho. (One member is currently serving in Central Africa!) We are an associate unit for the Northwest Historical Association, based out of Washington and Oregon. Our focus is on learning what and how the German Mountain Infantryman lived, fought and died. We participate in reenactments with the NWHA and other organizations. We also have classes in Winter and Mountain training, to include snow shoeing, sled use, skiing, snow shelters, hiking, pack animals and other areas of interest. |
